Do You Have A Spirit Of Excellence?

3

Just wanted to share a couple quick thoughts for this Monday. I’ve been reading some material by Dani Johnson and it has been mind-blowing.

Do you have a spirit of excellence in everything you do? Something to think about.

I’m not talking about your normal work routine and just passing by to get things done and move on to the next task. I’m talking about putting 100% into every task you got. You are NOT in a competition to show how good you are compared to other people and just doing enough to be one step ahead. You are in a competition with yourself to see how well you can do. You are in a competition to prove yourself to God. If you are a Christian, you are a child of The King. Show yourself as such. Trod this earth with an air of dignity that draws others to you asking for a blessing.

Don’t settle for second best. If you even find yourself saying, “I probably could’ve done better” you didn’t give it your all. Do the best you can, give 100%, and reach even farther on the next task.

Which would you like to hear when you make it to heaven and you are standing before the Ancient of Days?

“Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” (Matt 25:23)

Or

“Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matt. 25:26-30)

I will give you a hint, take the easy road with mediocre effort and you will hear the words of Matthew 25:26-30 ringing in your ears for eternity.
